Laminating head

It is the core of the machine and includes all devices for motion, actuators, drivers, exhaust smokes suction, cooling drum and associated equipments.

Built on a rugged frame, it supports the burner, head operator panel, controls of auxiliary systems.

The front side houses the inlet of primary material; the upper side houses the inlet of foam support; the rear side houses the end product outlet.

For the ACCD series units, rear side houses also the inlet of secondary material.

Laminating head houses a TRAFORATO drum, which perform a cooling action on laminated product (just after calendering) by means of air suction from external to internal side of cylinder.

Result is a thermal stabilisation of end product, preparing it to be sent to machine outlet.

In addition, a exhaust smokes suction system collect all combustion residual to a header for following send-out to a exhaust purification plant (normally not included in the scope of supply).

Linear burner

This is the component providing for melting of the surface layer pf polyurethane support, preparing it for lamination with primary material entering the machine.

Installed in the head, it is available with different working width from 1600mm to 2400mm, to be selected according user’s production needs.

Burner, manufactured entirely of aluminium, utilises propane gas (LPG) as fuel, and gives a linear and regular flame, resulting in an optimum uniformity of support surface melting.

This contributes in a very important way to the quality level of end product.

A pneumatic device (whose controls are in the head operator panel) sets applicator in the working position.

The latest generation of burners is designed with four cooling channels and a special flame diffusion system using blade radial flow.

This feature makes the burner crushproof also when flaming slot lasts long in time, along unpaused hours and hours of production time.

Alignment system

It is the device providing for correct introduction of foam support in the laminating head.

A pneumatic or electro-mechanical device connected to machine control system, carries out alignment of foam support to the machine axis, using optical sensors that operator can adjust according the actual width of utilised products.

Head operator panel

It is the interface between operator and machine control system.

A touch-screen panel, located on the right front side of the lamination head, provides for input and display of all running parameters:

Run, stop, maintenance, cleaning controls
Line speed setup
Controls of auxiliary systems eventually included in the line
Display of production meters counters
Display of alarm annunciator

Screen pages (graphic type) are simple and intuitive; 12” TFT screen is deemed quite familiar to operators.

Control cabinet

It is the “mind” of the line.

Generally located on the side of laminating head, this cabinet includes the PLC controller, taking care of running sequences, line safety shut down, power center of all motors and auxiliary systems eventually included in the line.

Panel front includes few controls only, necessary for line initial start-up: all normal running commands are originated from operator panels, located on the laminating head.

High line speed	Due to our long experience ranked in this industrial sector, it is possible to run line speeds of our machines to considerably high values (up to 70 meters per minute of mechanical speed). This is an element that makes flame laminating machines specifically suitable to big production slots.
Electronic air-fuel mixer	Compared to traditional flame lamination systems, the development of electronic controlled air-fuel mixer on the burner feeding stream permits a 30% saving on fuel gas consumption.
